Nichols Jr. has joined the Two Sigma IQ team as a strategic advisor. Nichols will provide Two Sigma IQ with valuable expertise and guidance to the company’s data science-driven underwriting solutions.

Nichols is the retired CEO of AXIS Reinsurance. As leader, he was credited with profitably growing the reinsurance business, improving analytical capabilities, and expanding into strategic capital partnerships. Prior to his time at AXIS Reinsurance, Nichols served as the executive vice president of Renaissance Reinsurance, president of Renaissance Underwriting Managers, and president of RenaissanceRe Ventures. He also previously held various positions at Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company. Nichols also serves on the Boards of: Delaware North Corporation, a leading hospitality company; Enhanzed Re, a joint venture of Allianz and Enstar; and Brit Re.
